Paul Bowles et al. - 12 July, 1985

from The Nantucket Diary of Ned Rorem 1973-1985, page 580:

In 1944 I wrote a piece called Prelude and Adagio for Organ, Flute, Horn and Viola, and sent it to E. Power Biggs (I'd heard Biggs, sooner or later, programmed everything he received) who accordingly did it on a Sunday broadcast. When I played an aircheck of this broadcast for Paul Bowles, he declares: "You seem to have gone on where Ravel left off."
