Flipping the dials on Tuesday we find Marvin Hamlisch, who seems to have published a history of his own genius, chatting with Dick Cavett, and, on a Steinway especially rented for the interview, wisping his accurate fingers over the keys as he explicates the composition of "The Way We Were", his best-known song.
