The Earl of Mount Edgcumbe in United Kingdom - at the end of the 1770's

from Musical Reminiscences: Containing an Account of Italian Opera in England, From 1773. The Fourth Edition, Continued to the Present Time, and Including The Festival in Westminster Abbey., page 15:

I was in the habit of so hearing him [Pacchierotti] most frequently, and having been intimately acquainted with him for many years, am enabled to speak thus minutely of his performance. On such occasions he would give way to his fancy, and seem almost inspired: and I have often seen his auditors, even those the least musical, moved to tears while he was singing.
