Driving back from the Potteries one day, the car skidded off the road and ended up in collision with a dry-stone wall in Derbyshire. I was wearing a new-fangled seat belt and was totally unhurt. The car radio was on and Dusty Springfield was singing 'In the Middle of Nowhere'.
