Duchess of Devonshire et al. in Rome - 20 November, 1820, at night

from Diary of Mary Berry, 20 November 1820, pages 263–264:

We dined at the Duchess of Devonshire’s, with the two Secretaries of the French Ambassador; M. de Lamarre, a Frenchman (military, I think); Camuccini, the painter; a Madame Renaudin, who sings wonderfully well, &c. In the evening Madame d'Appony came, M. and Madame de Blacas, Sir Edward and Lady Berry, and several gentlemen, none English except Lord W. Russell. Madame d’Appony sang like an angel with Madame Renaudin.
