In the evening I went, at eight o'clock, to Pauline’s (Princess Borghese); she occupies a fine apartment in the Palais Borghese, well heated. […] Several Roman ladies there, and about twenty gentlemen. We had music; I was at her side on the sofa; we talked a great deal of all those of her admirers who were my friends.
