Louis Philippe I et al. in Palace of Fontainebleau - 2 October, 1834, at night

from Diary of Mary Berry, 2 October 1834, page 431:

After dinner we were again summoned to the theatre, to three pieces—the ‘Chalet;’ and the ‘Caprice d'une Femme’, from the Opera Comique; and, between them, ‘Dominique, ou le Possédé’ from the François, admirably acted by Monrose, and very diverting. But three pieces are too much; the spectacle did not end till half-past twelve. I was sorry for the King and Queen, who were obliged to sit it all out.
