After supper a few songs were sung amongst which the Rev'd Mr Bristed (who with his daughter was staying at the Shaws) gave us a curious song about a stinking pheasant after which my sister & Mrs Williams sung, the latter of whom sung a famous Scotch song requiring a great compass of voice w'ch so affected Mr Bristed, Mrs W. being as he s'd exactly like his 1st wife, that tho' he was now married to a 2d. he was obliged to quit the room immediately afterwards...
