Herb Snitzer in Lewisohn Stadium - the 1960's

from Glorious Days and Nights: A Jazz Memoir, pages 33-34:

I saw Stan [Getz] at Lewisohn Stadium, the crowd in a festive mood. He was on the same bill as Louis Armstrong, who went on first. It was classic Pops. Stan played beautifully in the spirit of Lester Young, and backstage, lending their support, were Armstrong's manager, Joe Glaser, saxophonist Gerry Mulligan, trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie, and many others.
