[In the spring/summer of 1976 Chris Murphy was a roadie on tour with the band ‘Weather Report’]. ‘Weather Report’ was headed up by two Miles Davis alumni, keyboardist Joe Zawinul and saxophonist Wayne Shorter. They were a top-level fusion band, creative, slick, and endlessly talented. Joe Zawinul had a rather unusual beginning for a jazz player, coming from the Austrian Conservatory.
