Charles Halle in Melbourne - August, 1890
from Life and letters of Sir Charles Hallé; being an autobiography (1819-1860) , page 388:
Yesterday I had a rehearsal of Beethoven's C Minor Concerto. I went also with the band through the Adagio from Spohr's 9th Concerto (without Wilma), because the
clarinet parts were missing, and I had written them out from memory, so it was necessary to see if they were what was wanted.
