On Saturday evenings he [Malcolm White] played sonatas on the violin at which he was expert, Southwell accompanying him on the piano ; Bach Beethoven and Corelli would usurp meal-times ; and on Sunday afternoons the folding-doors between a sitting-room and the dining-room were opened and on one occasion as rnany as forty boys carne to tea, and lay about the floor reading or listening to sonatas and a string quartet.
