Mourners at the funeral service of Felix Mendelssohn in Berlin - October, 1847

from A Memoir of Baron Bunsen Volume II, page 146:

An extract from a Contemporary Notice, 10th November, 1847 - At Berlin there was another solemn service, hymns and a funeral address, and two of the choruses out of his own Oratorio of ' St. Paul' were performed, the words of which, from Scripture, were suited to the occasion. Here, the Harmonic Society wish to have his bust executed in marble, and placed at their expense in the British Museum.
