Letter from Mrs. Delany to Mrs. Dewes, Delville, 15 Dec. 1750 - We go this afternoon to the Bishop of Derry's, to hear Morella ; he conducted the Messiah very well - surprisingly so, considering he was not before acquainted with such sublime music.
