[Thelonius] Monk had his own ideas about things, as far as harmonies were concerned. But Dizzy was more advanced than any of them. Diz, by the way, was the first one I heard play "How High the Moon" in any other tempo than what had been the usual slow tempo up to that point. That was about 1941.
