Cassie Oliver et al. in Clinton, South Carolina - 9 September, 1917

from Diary of William Plumer Jacobs, page 483:

At supper he said he felt tired and would hear some music and go to bed. We had several pieces, then he began to talk - he said he was "blue" about his eye sight, feared he would be blind, told us he had prayed to God to take him before he became totally blind, and said he had asked God to take him while he was working.
