Another conductor I admired was Alexander von Zemlinsky. In fact, I remember a Marriage of Figaro led by him in Prague as one of the most satisfying operatic experiences of my life. I should also mention such exacting and reliable musicians as Fritz Busch, Roger Desormière, and Hans Rosbaud.
