...we were blessed to have Colin Purbrook as our musical director. When Clinton, an American from California, came to audition - 'I can sing, dance and act - I'm a triple threat' - Colin caressed the accompaniment on a beaten-up rehearsal room piano and within two bars Clinton murmured: 'hey man you've got the touch'.
