Erik Satie in France - 11 May, 1919

from Selected correspondence 1915-1963 / Francis Poulenc, page 35:

On Sunday, Parade proved that my orchestration is no worse than anyone else's. Many people thought the work was only right for the piano. Legend!!! / I am pleased, dear friend, that a young musician such as yourself should find that it 'SPEAKS' a little. Delgrange was perfect. One can entrust a work to him. Do so.
