members of the Welsh Folk Song Society in UK - September, 1910
from Welsh Folk Songs: Society's Gratifying Progress:
… Some very representative examples of old Welsh melodies amongst the most recently discovered and collected by the [Welsh Folk Song] Society were sung by Miss Jennie Williams, Miss Megan Evans, and Mr. Powell Edwards to the accompaniment of Mrs. Mary Davies. These had a quaint beauty, a striking melodious significance about them which make them yet worthy of being preserved as interesting musical memorials of the past.
