Charlton Byam Wollaston in Brussels - 23 June, 1791, at night

from Letter from C.B. Wollaston, 24 June 1791, page 43:

The French here, from being in the greatest spirits, are become miserably depressed: indeed the consequences may be lamentable. The officers bespoke ‘Richard Cœur de Lion’ at the theatre last night, and at every sentence applicable to the King’s deliverance, and particularly at the song of ‘Richard, O mon roi!’ the applause was amazing, and the actors were obliged to repeat several sentences over and over again.
