Charlton Byam Wollaston in Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula, Brussels - 1 July, 1791

from Letter from C.B. Wollaston to Dr Arnold, 1 July 1791, page 47:

I have been to hear High Mass performed at a magnificent altar erected before the choir in the Cathedral of St. Gudule, which is only placed there on great occasions. The instruments, organ, and singers (who were but moderate), were behind and out of sight, and some of the music was exceedingly fine.
