Charlton Byam Wollaston et al. in London, England - June, 1827, at night
from Letter from James Frampton to his sister, Mary Frampton, June 1827, pages 327–328:
Charlton and I went last night to the opera, and heard the first act of the ‘Mosé’ [sic] and the first act of ‘Tancredi.’ Pasta sang very beautifully in the latter. The Queen of Wurtemberg [Charlotte Augusta] arrived last night. We heard the guns saluting her while at the opera, which is unusual, as in general no salute takes place after sunset.
