I went to church afterwards like a good boy & pray’d for fair weather; the clerk sang with a melodious voice, & for some time alone, till join’d by a very soft female note I look’d round for the second, and found it to be a rough blacksmith who sang in a feign’d voice, that would have graced the Opera House[.]
