Kevin Crossley-Holland et al. in Chartres Cathedral - August, 1954, at night

from The Hidden Roads: A Memoir of Childhood, pages 212–213:

On the way home, we visited Vézelay and Chartres, where my father took me to a late-night concert in the cathedral (beginning, I noted, at 9.15 p.m.) of trios by Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Lalo.  We didn’t get back to our hotel until after 11 p.m.  I felt grown-up.

Notes

Kevin Crossley-Holland describes a family holiday to Switzerland. Although he doesn't specify that the works were piano trios, this is the only trio genre that has been written by all three composers mentioned in his account.
