Henry Croswell et al. in St Andrew Undershaft Church, City of London - 17 December, 1876, 06:30 PM
from Transcript of the diaries of Henry Croswell, page 98:
O[rgan]. – Good, old, renovated and large played powerfully by a lady!
C[hoir]. – Fourteen boys, twelve men who sung solos. There was a fine Anthem "Who is this that cometh from Bozrah …"
[The congregation numbered] 150 – They were mostly women. Would they be house-keepers, I wonder?

Notes
Henry Croswell (1840–93) kept a record of his visits to churches in London over a period of more than twelve years (1872–85). He made methodical notes about the number of clergy, the churchmanship, the congregation, the sermon and the church architecture, as well as commenting on the music that he heard (the organ, the hymns and the choir). The above listening experience has been extracted from one of these records. Elizabeth Stirling (1819–95) was organist at St Andrew's Undershaft from 1858 until 1880.
