[Richard Sell and John Harley were found guilty on 18 October 1775 of grand larceny, sentenced to transportation; both were granted a conditional pardon a few months later]

 

[Richard Sell]: I met with Harley and asked him to go and drink; as we were going down Gravel-lane, we heard some music in this house; I told him, I knew a young woman that used to live there, and we went in; not finding her, we were going out, the constables met us, and would not let us [leave].
