[Frame and his party set sail from Liverpool on the SS Campania on Saturday 12^th November, 1898 for a tour of the United States]

On the Sunday a service was conducted in the cabin by an old friend, Rev. David Macrae, who was a passenger, and I led the praise with the assistance of my party.  The service had to be cut short, as the sea was having the best of us, and we had to retire to our bunks.  For two long wild days the sea heaved and roared―and so did we.

[T]he thought of entertaining soon put me in a proper “Frame,” and we gave our American programme.   The piper led off, and we marched into the cabin, once more a merry crew.  I requested my friend Mr. Macrae to preside, which he did heartily.

Amongst our audience were the great vocalists, Madame Melba and Mdlle. Zelie de Lussan, who kindly assisted us by taking a collection for the “Seamen’s Orphan Home.”  The sum realised amounted to £47.
