Ned Rorem in Paris - 14 April, 1984
from The Nantucket Diary of Ned Rorem 1973-1985, page 480:
Afternoon concert, with Jay Gottlied, at the radio. I enjoyed the Englishman Nigel Osborne's Fantasia, but not Madera's Serenata, nor even especially Messiaen's Sept Haïkaï. All is overwrought.
