Ned Rorem in Nantucket - 6 October, 1985
from The Nantucket Diary of Ned Rorem 1973-1985, page 596:
On PBS last evening a two-hour Juilliard jubilee to celebrate its eightieth birthday. Two hours, without a word about composers. Indeed, nothing on creative music, although Paul Taylor was represented by a big ballet, Tenessee Williams by an uncomfortable bit from Streetcar, the Juilliard Quartet, with two students in tow, by a dull sextet of Brahms.
