Yehudi Menuhin in New York City - 1942

from Unfinished Journey, page 164:

One day Dorati invited several friends, myself among them, to his home for an evening’s chamber music which lasted long enough to provoke the reproaches of irate neighbors. Before the interruption he spoke of Bartók, pressed me to discover his music for myself, and played excerpts from various works at the piano. Like all important revelations, it seemed clear, obvious, even familiar, once it had been made.
