Alice Tully et al. in Alice Tully Hall - 10 February, 1980

from The Nantucket Diary of Ned Rorem 1973-1985, pages 277-278:

This evening JH and I took Alice Tully to Alice Tully Hall to hear Will Parker's all-American recital - one of the Rockefeller Prize bonuses. He opened with War Scenes, dramatic in theory but unhappy in fact; the audience isn't yet primed for such melancholic theatrics.
