Benjamin Britten in Lowestoft - 7 January, 1934

from Journeying boy : the diaries of the young Benjamin Britten 1928-1938, page 195:

Listen to abit of Prokofiev 3rd conc. & practically all of Verdi's Otello (this from Vienna) on wireless after tea & dinner.* Marvellous opera - pretty well done. Fading was rather bad in spots.
