Benjamin Britten in Lowestoft - 26 December, 1934

from Journeying boy : the diaries of the young Benjamin Britten 1928-1938, page 240:

Listen to a light orchestral concert cond. by F.B. He really is a great cond Di Ballo. Ov. of Sullivan - a lovely show of Casse Noisette (lovely work) & [Ouverture de fête] of Saint Saens ending wth his own original, brilliant & I truly believe great Sir Roger de Coverley* at its best.
