Benjamin Britten in Lowestoft - 31 January, 1935

from Journeying boy : the diaries of the young Benjamin Britten 1928-1938, page 246:

Listen to Beecham & L.P.O. doing Mendelssohn Italian & Sibelius 4th Symphonies. Much in commin - both saying very little - 1st very charmingly the 2nd very coldly & uncompromisingly. But then Sibelius is probably beyond me.
