Samuel Bentham et al. in Paris - 2 May, 1791, at night

from Letter from Samuel Bentham to Jeremy Bentham, 3 May 1791, page 275:

In the evening Lady Gower, Lady Sutherland I mean, took me to call on Made Coigny, and we three went to Richlieu’s box at the Opera, where we found him mightily pleased at having reced news of the Cross of St. George being given him for his Ismail’s Exploits. You will easily conceive that such company with good Music made me well contented with my Existence.
