Katherine Henderson in Alexandra Palace, London - November, the 1950's

from Had I But Known, page 54:

[The author reflects generally about regular outings in London during her working life  in the 1950s]

On Armistice Sunday, we always went to the Alexandra Palace to the Armistice service, and this was a real treat. The Palace was packed to capacity, and the great organ literally vibrated the air with everyone singing. It was a wonderful experience and one I looked forward to year after year.
