I found Aunt a very interesting woman, her main interest was the Methodist Chapel. She treasured two wooden posts, which formed part of a pulpit erected in the kitchen of a former relative where the Methodists worshipped and John Wesley preached, before a Methodist Chapel was built there. Someone presented the Methodist Chapel with a good American organ to replace the small harmonium there. Aunt Jemima purchased the latter, although there was no-one in her family who was musical. A few years later she was very gratified when I could play her favourite hymns thereon.
