Notes

The King and Queen of the Sandwich Islands (now the Hawaiian Islands) travelled uninvited to London in 1824 seeking an audience with George IV in order to seek his protection for their islands. Unfortunately, before the meeting could take place, both the King and Queen contracted measles, a disease then unknown in their homeland, and died.
