Fifth Viscount Torrington in Chepstow Castle, Chepstow - 16 June, 1781

from Tour to the West, 1781, page 27:

One day is not long enough for the proper survey of Tintern Abbey, and of Chepstow Castle.  I employ’d 2 hours here, and was happily startled in my reveries, by the distant (puppet-shew) trumpet, which reminded me of ancient chivalry, and made me expect the approach of an armed knight.
