Notes

The Storys were old Leicestershire friends of Thomas Moore. The Sapios were a family of professional musicians. It is not clear from Moore's account which family member(s) took part in the concert. At the time he was writing, the tenor Lewis Sapio was popular in Paris, and soon afterwards settled in London.
