Archibald Edward Douglas et al. in Paris - 27 March, 1821, at night

from Memoirs, Journal and Correspondence of Thomas Moore, page 214:

Two strings to our bow today; the Fieldings [sic] and the Français, or the Douglases and the Opera.  Bessy too much knocked up for either, and I divided myself between both.  Dined with the Fs., and went to the Opera with the Douglases, the “Barbière.”
