...hearing tapes of David Horne, my new student from Scotland. His concerto playing (Rachmaninoff's Paganini, Beethoven's First) is accurate, glittering, self-assured, utterly controlled. Like most of the teenagers at Curtis he technically plays rings around Horowitz.
