In 1850 we all sang in a Cantata composed by Dr Elvey before the Queen & Prince Consort. I remember that the Queen sent for the Dr after it was over & congratulated him & the Prince Consort came & bowed to us all, & after that we all had supper at the Castle & among other things there was a Baron of beef, a joint I had never seen before.
